So I’ve decided that I am going to record an album here in my basement. I’ve a fairly specific plan too. Thirty six days starting this past Sunday to record twelve songs. So I can have a big enough workspace and get as messy I need to but not use up all my disk space, I am going to give each song it’s own cd-rw. Besides the .wav’s from the various tracks, it will keep the lyrics and chords, and also some kind of production notes, like beats per second, and exactly what effects were used on which tracks so I can reproduce anything I might need to reproduce. Of course, I’ll keep dry versions of everything as well, in case I decide I hate an effect and what to go back. Maybe I’ll even power tab some stuff and that can go on there too.

I’m explaining this here mostly to have it written down. It’s harder to escape goals you’ve made for yourself once you’ve got them in ink. Or on the Internet I guess.
